DOUG MARCAIDA 5.11 TALON FOLDER

In the wild, the talon evolved to become one of nature’s most effective weapons. Hence the name of this DM Talon folding karambit designed by Forged in Fire host and famed weapons expert Doug Marcaida. Its perfectly placed frame lock is easy to disengage, while offering a solid lockup. The groove on the back of the spine is perfect for a thumb-supported grip. With translucent handles, a D2 blade that cuts like a laser, and a patented BRAMP opening mechanism makes it a modern take on a classic design.

This has become my EDC. It is great for everyday things I need a knife for, opening boxes, mail, etc. My favorite part is it makes an awesome fidget spinner. I practice all the time with it, I just make sure I have shoes on in case I drop it…LOL. I bought my first one at the seminar in Mahopec and just ordered a second one (have to train both hands at the same time). All in all, for me it’s a 5 Star knife/Karambit.

I own the fixed version as well which is one of my favorite knives ever. This one is great but I wish it had more ways to deploy it. It is tricky because it holds shut rather tightly but does not have the wave (or hook) that the Dart knives have to catch on clothing. There is not really an easy way to flick open either, with a spring assist this would have been an amazing knife. But it is still a great addition to any collection!

Awesome Karambit! love the design, the size, feel and ergonomics, the quick deployment out of my pocket with the catch , it came sharp it’s sturdy. Im overall happy with it. But I do have a minor complaint the lock up was really tight which makes deploying it one handed with the finger ramp and any other way other then the pocket catch hard to open. Also the fuller indentation on the blade is cool however it sits too low which makes it hard to catch with your thumb or forefinger to use as a way to open it. That’s why I only gave it 4 out of 5 but very cool that Doug Marcaida designed it. It will definitely cut and Keal

Great design all around I love the BRAMP system I am going to buy a few more just in case I lose one.
