IT'S FINALLY HERE!!

Doug Marcaida, knife designer and judge on Forged in Fire, created a new karambit line for Fox Knives Italy. The Tribal K comes in both fixed blade and folding formats. The biggest difference between the two is a mechanical one, with the actual knife design and specifications almost identical between the two. They both have a sharply curved blade measuring 3 inches long, with a serrated portion of spine near the tip, made from either N690 or M390. The latter steel comes with correspondingly upgraded bronze titanium scales, while the former’s scales are made from G-10.

The handle is marked with recurring triangular motifs from Filipino Martial Arts. The finger ring provides stability and strength, and the textured handle is designed for a sure and steady grip.

The folding Tribal K is equipped with the Kinetic Opening mechanism, which is an extended, textured ramp on the blade that can be used to open the knife by dragging it across a surface. A liner lock, it’s also sporting the Michael Walker/Ron Lake L.A.W.K.S. secondary lock, which you may recall from its appearances on some older CRKT models.

    Tribal K Karambit folder

Posted by Brian Maloney on Aug 30th 2023

First, let me say how much I appreciate the customer service here. I was sent the wrong product on my order by mistake. I contacted them, and they corrected it promptly and with no hassle. They apologized in a surprisingly generous way, and I will do business with this class whenever I have a need they can fulfill in the future. Best customer service anywhere. Thank you.
When I unboxed the knife, I found it was actually about the same size as the Fox 599 rather than the Fox 479. This was actually a good thing, as the handle fits my hand perfectly. There is no rubbing against the side of my hand at all like I get with some of my other karambits. The blade actually was razor sharp, unlike the razor sharp that some other companies advertise. No need to run to your sharpener immediately with this one. The blade is nice and tight with absolutely no wiggle, and the liner lock is very strong by itself. The LAWKS system gives me an even higher level of confidence. Doug did a fantastic job with the design of this one, and it will be my favorite EDC from now on. I also own the 5.11 folding Talon, and when I carry either, I feel like I have Doug in my pocket. One of the best things about these 2 products is they have what I believe is the BRAMP opening system which allows for instantaneous deployment if necessary. The BRAMP system works just as well as the wave. 5 stars to both the products mentioned, as well as the customer service and company itself!
